Shoe

19 12 2009

Shoe has been my recent addiction in the music world.   I would post the music video here, but seeing as how it is flagged “not appropriate for minors” I don’t believe it would actually play.  🙂

I would however like to share the lyrics with you all today.

Shine my shoes brother!

Furry, little squirrel, I need you. I don’t think that I want to be you.
I hate everybody, get out of my kitchen. Lay down in the forest, live with my affliction.
And
Chorus:
I cannot breathe .When you’re there, I can’t see. When you’re smiling to me, and I try to smile back.

(Hey, ahuha, hey,ahuha, hey,ahuha)
Climbing, sunshining, keeping my hand warm. Trying, timing, boy you have been warned.
I hate other people, get out of my bedroom. This was unforeseeable. Aching to be near you.

(Chorus)

But my lips hurt when I do. My~ lips hurt when I do.
My lips hurt when I smile. My~ lips when I smile.
My lips hurt when I smile (x3)
My lips hurt when I… Hey,ahuha, Hey,ahuhahuha,ahuhahuha
BASS!  OH HEY!

I cannot breathe. When you’re there, I can’t see. When you’re smiling to me. When you’re smiling to me, to me~,  to me~!

Hey, ahuha, hey,ahuha

DAP CODE:SLACKER

22 11 2009

Sorry about the lack of posts this week.  It’s been busy and I just had not found the time to sit down and do art.  So, to make up for this past week, I decided to kinda cheat and made a single pice of artwork that contains all the images for this past week’s theme.

Henry’s Cookbook 2

16 11 2009

Here is my second attempt at cooking a chicken dinner with random vegetables and spices.  This is probably my best attempt so far.

Ingredients for chicken:

  • approx 3 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 large tomato
  • 1 half of large yellow onion
  • half a can of corn
  • about 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • half a cup of homemade salsa
  • a pinch of cumin
  • approx. half a cup of mozzarella cheese

To start it off, I placed the diced onions, corn and tomatoes into a pan by themselves with a little bit of vegetable oil.  After letting that cook for a minute, I added in the spices and let it cook.  Meanwhile, I started another pan to cook the chicken in.  After letting the chicken brown, I added  the homemade salsa.  I continued to cook the items separately and began to work on the muffins.  After getting the muffins into the oven, I mixed both the vegetable mix and browned salsa chicken together and cooked it on low until Bethany got off of work.  Once Bethany arrived, I added in the mozzarella cheese and brought it to the table warmed.  The tortillas were store-bought, so I just threw them into the microwave for a little over a minute to warm.  Served with sour cream and cheddar cheese, the dish made excellent taco’s!

Another key item to my dish was the homemade salsa (2nd attempt as well) that I prepared beforehand.

Ingredients for homemade salsa:

  • 1 large tomato
  • 1 half large yellow onion
  • 1 can Rotel tomato and chili mix
  • 2 aged Jalepenos
  • 1/4 cup Garden Vegetable Chunky Ragu sauce
  • a pinch of garlic powder
  • salt
  • pepper

To start this off, I had to boil the jalepenos, onion, and tomato.  Once soft, I cut the vegetables into fourths and tossed them into the blender 2 pieces at a time.  About halfway through those, I added the can of Rotel.  Unfortunately, I forgot to drain it before adding it, causing the end result to be a little runny…again.  Anywho, after adding in the Rotel, I continued to add the rest of the vegetable and blending them into a good consistency.  Then, added in the garlic powder, pepper, salt and Ragu sauce.  Now, you might be wondering “Why in the world Ragu sauce?!”  Well, I did not have any tomato paste on hand.  And while Ragu sauce is Ragu sauce, using only a small amount achieves the same effect, which is to sweeten the salsa to take away the kick of the tomato.  So after adding those in, I blended it for a just a few second more to mix it in well.  It creates about 2 decent sized bowls of salsa and is about a 6 out of 10 on the salsa hotness scale.

DAP CODE:BIRD

15 11 2009

Yesterday me and Beth decided to have our own little themed sketch practice.  I came up with the idea of “Birds” for us to sketch without a real example.  Tomorrow however, I think we will be doing a still life of something that she chooses.  Here is the bird entry I did.  If you wish to see Bethany’s just follow this link.
